Who doesn't love walking into a home that smells absolutely wonderful? That's exactly what potpourri can do for your home. The problem is, quality potpourri can cost an arm and a leg. Here are some wonderful potpourri recipes you can make on your own.
Trailblazer Dry Potpourri
Some potpourri is liquid and some is dry. This recipe is for a dry potpourri that your sure to love. First, gather the following ingredients:
4 cups of whole hibiscus flowers
3 cups of natural casurina
2 cups of milo berries
2 cups of black malva
2 cups of eucalyptus leaves
1 cup of rose hips
You can either place this dry potpourri into bowls around your home for a light scent or you can simmer it on the stove in water if you want a stronger aroma running through your home.
Bayberry Spice Potpourri
This one is great for simmering on the stove and it make a wonderful fragrance for those cold nights when you just want to curl up with a book. You'll need:
3 cups of whole rose leaves
2 cups of white angel wings (it's a spice)
2 cups of milo berries
2 cups of hibiscus flowers
1 cup of juniper berries
2 cups of pine cones (a mix of birch and hemlock)
1/2 cup of allspice
1/2 cup of anise
1/2 cup of cut oak moss
1/2 cup of cloves
Shake it up and mix it together and simmer portions of it on the stove to release the aroma through your home or put some in potpourri sachets and place in your closets and drawers.
