Try These Yummy Berry Recipes

We all know that fresh berries taste wonderful all by themselves, but sometimes we want something a little more complex. For those who love a bit of variety in their berry diet, these recipes are sure to tantalize your taste buds.

Bountiful Blueberry Custard

You'll Need:

4 slices of Sara Lee Soft and Smooth Whole Grain White Bread
2 cups of whole milk
1 1/2 cups of blueberries
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons of softened butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 eggs, beaten
8" square baking dish
Larger baking dish that 8" baking dish fits into.

First, take the four pieces of bread and trim away the crusts. Then spread one side of the bread with butter and cut each slice into 4 smaller squares. Lightly butter the 8" square baking dish. Arrange the squares of bread, butter side up, in a single layer on the 8" square baking dish. Spread blueberries over the bread. Heat the milk and sugar until it is warm and the sugar has dissolved, but do not let it reach boiling. Then combine the milk and sugar with the eggs and vanilla and pour the mixture over the blueberries. Put the 8" baking dish into a larger baking dish and add 1 inch of hot water to the larger dish. Bake both dishes at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool for at least 20 minutes. Chill any unused portion in the refrigerator.

Strawberry Gelatin Pudding

You'll Need:

1 package of strawberry gelatin
1 1/4 cups hot water

10 ounces of fresh strawberries

Dissolve the strawberry gelatin into the warm water and add ice cream one spoonful at a time. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Then take the mixture out and fold strawberries and whipping cream into it. Refrigerate the pudding until it sets.
