What You Need

Of course, you need blueberries to make blueberry nut bread, but it's a little more involved than just that. Get ready to go to the store and take this list with you. This is what you're going to need:

3 cups of flour
1 and 2/3 cups milk
1 and 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
1 cup of sugar
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 beaten egg
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Bread loaf pan (greased and flour coated)

Making Your Blueberry Nut Bread

Once you've got your ingredients together, it's time to jump in and make your blueberry nut bread. First, mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Press your fist into the middle of the mixture forming a "well" where you can pour liquid.

Next, in a large mixing bowl, you need to combine the egg, milk, vegetable oil and vanilla extract. When mixed well, begin to pour the mixture into the "well" of the dry mixture bowl. Stir this mixture until the batter is moistened.

Now the good stuff goes into your blueberry nut bread mixture. Fold in the blueberries and nuts and pour the mixture into your pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour (or until you can put in a toothpick and remove it without batter sticking to the pick. Then cool the bread until it's ready to serve and you'll be in for the best blueberry nut bread you've ever tasted.
