Strawberries are a favorite fruit amongst just about everybody. Strawberries are pretty versatile because they can be used in a variety of recipes and dishes.

1. Fresh strawberries and cream
Fresh strawberries with thick, fresh cream is a wonderful treat that can be served at breakfast, as a snack, or as an after dinner treat.
2. Strawberry gelatin parfaits
For kids’ parties, strawberry gelatin parfaits are always a hit. To make them use any flavor of gelatin and prepare it according to the recipe stirring fresh sliced strawberries into the liquid before you gel it. Once gelled, place a tablespoonful of the gelatin mixture in the bottom of a parfait cup, top with whipped cream and continue layering until the cup is full. Put whipped cream on top and top it off with a whole fresh strawberry.
3. Strawberry smoothies
Strawberries are fabulous in smoothies. To make smoothies place fresh strawberries, milk, sugar and ice in a blender and liquefy the mixture. Adding a banana gives the smoothies a nice flavor and texture. Mixed berries can also be used in place of the strawberries for some variety.
4. Strawberry shortcake
Strawberry shortcake made with pound cake or angel food cake, fresh glazed berries and whipped cream is a scrumptious dessert.
5. Strawberry pancakes
Fresh sliced strawberries added to pancake batter makes wonderful pancakes. The pancakes can also be topped with sweetened strawberries or strawberry jam and whipped cream rather than syrup.
6. Strawberry jam
Strawberries can be made into preserves or jam which makes great gifts.
7. Strawberry popsicles
Kids love popsicles made from strawberries, and they are healthy snacks. To make popsicles blend the strawberries in a blender on the liquefy setting. Pour the mixture into a popsicle mold. If you don’t have a popsicle mold, you can put the liquefied strawberries in small paper cups, cover them with plastic wrap and place a popsicle stick in the middle of the plastic wrap. Running the cups under warm water for a few seconds will release the popsicle from the cup.
8. Chocolate dipped strawberries
Chocolate dipped strawberries make wonderful hors d’eoeuvres, after dinner treats, and gifts. You can melt semi-sweet chocolate chips in a double boiler, dip fresh strawberries in the melted chocolate and place the strawberries on waxed paper to cool.
9. Strawberry sorbet
To make strawberry sorbet, blend strawberries, sugar, lemon juice and honey in a blender. Pour the mixture into a freezer safe dish and freeze it. Use an ice cream scoop to serve the sorbet.
10. Strawberry chicken
Blended strawberries can be poured over baked chicken when it is almost done for a unique dish. Continue baking the chicken for about 15 minutes after the strawberries are added.
