Who Else Wants Blueberry Buckle?

A Mouthwatering Blueberry Buckle Recipe

It had been years since my grandmother had given me some of her homemade blueberry buckle, so I did what any adoring grandchild would do... I simply asked her for the recipe and whipped up two batches -- one for me and one for her. I'm telling you, if you've never had home made blueberry buckle, you really have no idea what you're missing. Luckily, I'm sharing grandma's secret recipe with you.

Let's Gather

The first thing you need to do to make this fabulous blueberry buckle is gather all of the ingredients you're going to need. Here's the list..

For the buckle you'll need:

Greased 9" square baking pan
2 cups of sifted flour
2 cups of fresh blueberries
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup room-temperature butter
1 egg
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

and for the topping you'll need:

1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/4 cup room-temperature butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Getting Started

First you're going to work on the blueberry buckle, so put the topping ingredients to the side for the moment and preheat your oven to 375. Now, mix the butter, sugar and egg and beat it well.

Now sift together the dry ingredients and add them to the butter mixture alternately with the 1/2 cup of milk until the mixture is smooth. Now fold in the blueberries (can't have blueberry buckle without blueberries) and pour the mixture into the baking pan.

Now it's time for the topping. Mix all of the topping ingredients together into a crumbly mixture and sprinkle all of it evenly over the blueberry buckle batter. Bake the blueberry buckle at 375 for 35 minutes, let cool and enjoy!
