Who's Ready for Homemade Cranberry Sauce This Holiday Season?

Great Cranberry Sauce Recipes to Impress Your Guests

If you're a berry lover, the idea of cranberry sauce out of the can is horrific. How can you have a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner with CANNED cranberry sauce on the table! You can't. Fortunately, homemade cranberry sauce doesn't have to be a hassle. Here's an easy recipe that's sure to please all of your cranberry-loving guests.

What You'll Need

If you want to make this awesome cranberry sauce for your guests, you're going to have to get some supplies. Fortnately, you won't need that many of them and you might even have them in the house. Here's the ingredients list for your cranberry sauce masterpiece:

4 cups of fresh cranberries
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
½ cup of chopped pecans
2 tbsp. cinnamon

Yep, that's it. Five simple ingredients to make the cranberry sauce of a lifetime.

Putting It Together

Now that you have your cranberry sauce ingredients, it's time to get cooking. First, bring the water to a boil and slowly stir in the sugar, letting it dissolve. Then add the cranberries and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes, or until the cranberies burst. Then mix in the pecans and the cinnamons into it. Let it cool to room temperature and then put it in the fridge.

Don't be surprised if your cranberry sauce seems a bit “runny” when it's put into the refrigerator. The sauce will thicken as it cools. Take it out of the fridge after it's had time to chill and you've got a cranberry sauce to die for.
