Gathering the Harvest

If you want to make this great Thanksgiving berry pie, you're going to need to gather up a few ingredients. Before you heat up the oven, here's your shopping list:

Pre-made pie crust
5 cups of apples peeled and thinly sliced
1 pint of blackberries
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
2 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 lightly beaten egg
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon milk

Getting Ready for Thanksgiving

Now that you have your ingredients it's time to put them together. Here's how you get started...

Take the pie crust and place it in a pie pan spreading a thin layer of apples at the bottom. Then mix the blackberries with the remaining apples in a bowl, adding the sugar, corn starch and lemon juice. Place the filling into the pie shell and place the top crust over the filling pressing around the edges of the pie.

Mix together the egg and the milk and brush it over the top of the crust. Put the pie into a pre-heated oven at 375 degrees and bake for 50 minutes or until the filling bubbles. Then let cool and enjoy your Thanksgiving berry pie!
